The fish of Brittany

Finistère and west Morbihan are endowed with a high quality river network rich of trout, salmon and shad. The Ellé river, known as the most salmon-teeming river in Brittany, the charming Aven river or the Scorff river, all shelter wealthy populations of trouts and salmons. The smaller rivers, on the other hand, are populated by fario trouts. Amateurs of pike’s fishing will find an endless choice of fishing spots from Nantes to Brest, lake St Michel and many ponds. And if you are looking for a trophy fish, from 3 to 5 kg, you can catch bass fish from the coats or from a boat specially equipped for fly fishing ( 2 persons max).

A town to see for a campervan trip

Jean-Baptiste Vidal, your fishing guide in Brittany

Jean-Baptiste pursued environmental studies (BTS in fish farming and Nature Management and Protection) before working in the Finistère Fishing Federation for 5 years. After this first work experience, he began practising as a fishing guide abroad in such renowned destinations as Argentina, Iceland, Russia, Bolivia or Ireland. He had practised nearly all fishing techniques before specialising in fly fishing and settling back in Brittany, where he has become a fishing guide and an instructor. He will know perfectly how to support you during your fishing trip. In order to provide you with a high quality tackle, he has made a thorough selection of rods, reels or tippets of the best brands. To Jean-Baptiste, personally choosing the flies for each specific fish species and each environment is a matter of honour. To learn more about Jean-Baptise, go and explore his world.

A typical day with Jean-Baptiste

During a fishing day in his company, Jean-Baptiste first addresses your expectations but also your level, to provide you with a personalized service tailored to your desires. No fishing day looks the same. Everything depends on the species you want to catch and the technical skills you possess. Jean-Baptiste doesn’t settle for a formal teaching, he wants to share his expertise in a friendly and joyful atmosphere. In his opinion, fishing is first and foremost a hobby that is linked to the nature, clearing the mind and becoming a genuine source of pleasure.
