Rent a campervan for a climbing trip in the Gorges du Tarn

Situated in the heart of the Lozère region, a beautiful river has cut through the causses, leaving us with some exceptional walls as a gift. Sculpted walls, endless and dotted with holes of all sizes. To come to the Tarn Gorge in a van fitted out for climbing is to accept a point of no return, after which it will be hard to forget the great flights and end-of-day summer swims in the river. Raphaël takes you to vertical paradise in a converted van.

Selection of the best climbing routes

If you're climbing in the 4th and 5th grades, the Foetus climbing sector is probably your best bet, with nice, affordable routes and beautiful rock. For 6 climbers, the cliffs of Noir Désir and Trésor du Zèbre are ideal. With beautiful flights of 25 to 35 meters on highly sculpted walls. And for the more athletic climbers, there's plenty to do here in the kingdom of 7! From the big overhangs of the Oasif climbing area, to the immense walls of Tennessee or Planète Causse, the choice will be hard!

The Tarn, a vertical paradise for a climbing holiday

Belonging to the Grands Causses massif in the Cévennes National Park, needless to say, the setting is just incredible, as are the sectors, almost all of which are magnificent. But if you had to choose just one, the Cirque des Baumes is sure to catch your eye. The rock, with its pleasant, generous shapes and soft touch, will suit you perfectly. With a wide variety of profiles and orientations, the climbing site is open all year round. Les Gorges du Tarn is climbing that's fun and affordable, so don't hesitate to bring the whole family along for a weekend of rock-climbing in a campervan!

Where to sleep during your climbing trip in a campervan?

During the summer months, camping in the gorges is strictly forbidden. The area is sensitive, so we advise you to drive your campervan a few kilometers to find a little sleeping spot on the heights of the village of Les Vignes. If you're planning to stay for several nights during your climbing trip, you can also find a prime spot in one of the many campsites lining the river! You'll be able to fall asleep in your converted van to the sound of running water. Whatever you do, be discreet and respect the area!
